Is it a bird, is it plane …

When you feel that impending doom start to overcome you. The ground is heavy under your feet and your body feels like it can’t stand. You hands start shaking and you brain feels numb. The world is dark even though the sun shines. Everything is worthless and your energy is completely used up. Nobody is there (or everyone is there), your all alone. You can’t function, think, sleep, live.

Look up … What do you see?

The gift of he universe and all its unexploded horizons.

Blue skies,

Filled with sunshine, rain or snow clouds showing the vast enormity of the world around you.

The literal roof over your head. Keeping you warm, dry and safe.

Being a small speck on this planet does not make you insignificant, but allows you to envision the enormity of the world and where you are in it. Your tiny speck is so needed and wanted. The world and its surroundings just would not be the same without you. You are important to all those around you, including yourself. Find your passion, your purpose and love the life you live.

Depression can be intimidating. Always remember you are the one capable of being the best person you can be. It’s ok to be sad or angry but always remember to counter those emotions with love and compassion for yourself. Have faith everyone will eventually start following your awesome example.

Be kind to yourself…

You hold your own heart in your hands …

  1. Colin Wilson used to say that he would go outside and look up at the night stars when depression descended. To gain perspective and realise his utter insignificance in the grand scheme of things but also his incredible luck in being alive. That focus on something so magnificent would cause his depression to fade away.
